Son in Law Eggs

by CCW on October 15, 2011

This weeks ‘Dish of the Week’ is none other than the renowned “Son in Law Eggs”.

Known as  ‘khai luuk kheuy’ in Thailand, this dish is made from deep friend hard boiled eggs topped with a sweet tamarind sauce and tasty shallots.

Not every Thai Restaurant in Melbourne will serve this dish. It is a bit of a delicacy and only now are people starting to request it a bit more. At first people can be put off by the idea of shoving a whole deep fried egg in their mouths but once they try it they usually go back for more! So do ask for Son in Law Eggs the next time you are at Chilli n Chive!
